UT CIS Launches TCED Online

 

The TCED Program has adapted to the ‘new normal’ as a result of COVID-19 and has been working hard to find a solution that provides quality programming and ensures participant, instructor and staff safety.  TCED hosted its first ever virtual training with the TN Managing Economic Development Course held June 24-25, 2020 and the TN Economic Development Basic Finance Course held July 22-23, 2020.

The ultimate goal was to make online training as close to in-person training as possible and the TCED team was up for the challenge.  Participants saw changes that included a greater balance of course content and discussion and a shorter course duration to help stay focused and engaged.  Course fees were reduced, since participants had to bring their own lunch!  Two things that did not change were scholarship awards and the infamous door prizes!
