UT CIS Makes Transition to New ISO Standard Simple

About

Parker Trutec - MMI Tennessee specializes in the Isonite QPQ process also known as Salt Bath Nitriding or Ferritic Nitrocarburizing. This plant primarily services the automotive and appliance industries.  Isonite QPQ is a great surface treatment solution for reducing wear, improving corrosion resistance, enhancing material strength and improving aesthetics on ferrous metal parts. The plant can process high volume production but minimum orders are commonplace.

The Challenge

Parker Trutec - MMI was registered to ISO 9001:2008 and requested assistance in identifying the “gap” between their current system and the requirements of the 2015 revision of the ISO 9001 standard.  Parker Trutec - MMI also requested necessary training courses to successfully transition to the 2015 revision of the ISO 9001 standard.

MEP's Role

UT CIS conducted an ISO 9001:2015 Transition Gap Analysis for the Company in order to identify what work was needed in order to transition to the revised standard,  UT CIS then provided the training required for the transition including ISO 9001:2015 Standard Overview training, Risk Management training and Internal Auditor training.  Representatives from the Company’s Paragould, Arkansas facility traveled to Sevierville, TN for the first two sessions.  UT CIS was then able to connect that facility to the Arkansas MEP for additional assistance on-site.

RESULTS
