Philip Trauernicht Memorial Scholarship for Rural Leaders

Planning to attend the Tennessee Basic Economic Developer Course (TBEDC) August 23-26? 

If you serve in a rural community and have less than five years of experience in economic and community development, you may be eligible for the Philip Trauernicht Memorial Scholarship for Rural Leaders. 

The annual scholarship was created in memory of Philip Trauernicht, a long-time public servant to economic development, whose commitment to rural communities has made a lasting impact on Tennessee. 

Six Candidates Apply for Tennessee Certified Economic Developer Designation

Six Tennessee Certified Economic Development (TCED) Program participants have submitted applications for their Capstone Projects and are eligible to graduate in April of 2021.

The candidates and the working titles of their projects are:

  • The Tennessee Certified Economic Developer (TCED) Program offers comprehensive training in the principles and practices of economic development.
  • Professional Certification in Economic Development.   Upon completion of the TCED Program and certification requirements, participants are awarded the Tennessee Certified Economic Developer (TCEcD) designation, indicating they have achieved core
