2 Months and 50 Counties: 2019 Forums Completed

ABP Forums

The UT CIS Economic Development team, in partnership with TNECD, has successfully completed the coordination and facilitation of fifty ThreeStar Asset-Based Planning forums in fifty counties across Tennessee. This was accomplished in just two months.

Ryan Egly of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce participated in one such forum. "We are grateful for partners, like UT CIS and TNECD, that facilitate such great discussion. We look forward to acting on this report to improve our economic development efforts," he said.

The goal setting process for TNECD’s ThreeStar Program involves community stakeholders gathering for a two-hour forum to identify their key assets and set goals to leverage those assets for economic development.

“The feedback has been extremely positive from the counties we served over the last couple of months,” said Kathy Barber, the program coordinator for UT CIS.  “It will be exciting to see the outcomes as the communities complete their goals over the next twelve to eighteen months.”
