Lean Manufacturing Overview (2009 Schedule)
This course demonstrates a systematic approach to reducing costs and lead times by continually reducing non-value added activities. Lean manufacturing tools improve the flow of information and materials that will increase your organization’s productivity, competitiveness, and profitability. With a combination of classroom training, real-world examples, and hands-on simulations, you will discover ways to identify and eliminate or reduce the wastes in your manufacturing process. Lean tools you will learn about include value stream mapping, workplace organization and visual controls (5-S system), standardized work, quick changeover/setup reduction, Pull/Kanban systems, and total productive maintenance.
