Six Sigma

Is your business faced with cross-functional, complex problems?

Six Sigma can help.  Six Sigma is a methodology developed and refined by companies such as GE, Motorola, and 3M to transform complex business issues into statistical problems with statistical solutions, then transferring those statistical solutions into practical, useful solutions.  Jack Welch successfully implemented Six Sigma at GE by permeating his organization with the training, methodology, and discipline provided by the Six Sigma approach and used it as the primary tool for the company’s continuous improvements resulting in enormous successes during his tenure.

TMEP works with your own people, training them extensively on the use of Six Sigma tools and creating more effective, educated employees:

  • Green Belts undergo 80 hours of Six Sigma training and typically complete projects related directly to their own work over a 4-6 month time frame with bottom line impacts in the $20,000 - $50,000 range annually.
  • Black Belts undergo 160 hours of Six Sigma training and typically work full time on continuous improvement projects over a 4-6 month time frame with bottom line impacts in the $100,000 - $500,000 range annually.
  • TMEP Black Belts and Master Black Belts provide mentoring assistance to Black Belts and Green Belts helping them to successfully complete Six Sigma projects with tangible bottom-line results.
  • TMEP Master Black Belts can work with you to roll out an entire Six Sigma program strategically at your company.

Typically, Six Sigma approaches problems using the DMAIC methodology:

  • D – Define: Determine the nature of the problem, scope it appropriately, select the appropriate team members, and create the project charter
  • M – Measure: Establish the Customer’s requirements and measure the current processes’ ability to meet them
  • A – Analyze: Perform a thorough analysis to determine what drivers influence the processes’ ability to satisfy Customer requirements
  • I – Improve: Determine the Key Process Input Variables, those drivers that have the most significant impact on the Customer’s requirements, and optimize them
  • C – Control: Mistake-proof the Key Process Input Variables or place other controls on them that ensure that Customer Requirements are never missed

TMEP offers Six Sigma training in a variety of formats, including online, onsite, and open enrollment, to meet your needs.  With mentoring assistance available from an in-state certified Master Black Belt, why consider out-of-state resources?
